Top #LifeAtProcore Insider Advice
I get a lot of people asking me what they can do here at Procore. I always wish I could tell someone exactly what the perfect role for them would be, but there is no way for me to know that! Instead, I share the sage advice I have learned over my career both as an individual pursuing my own career, and also as a career development professional: focus on the problems and challenges that excite you and work your way back from there. When you start with 'what can I do?' you can end up with tunnel vision and only see a few opportunities. But when you start with the things that interest and excite you, you start to see a whole world out there and then you can explore those different avenues. That's what helps you narrow it down. Consider how you want to serve a company. Do you want to work with customers directly, or do you want to be focused internally? Do you want to attract or retain customers? Are you a builder? Do you love creating things? Or do you get a thrill from dissecting, identifying a problem, and finding a solution? There are all kinds of questions like that to explore. Figure that stuff out. Then you can start to shift into where that all fits into teams and roles. Making career decisions can be a lot of work! When you take the time to really dive in and explore, chances are better that you will direct yourself toward something you will be really engaged in for the long term.

What do you live about your job and the company?
I didn't know much about Procore - or the construction industry - when I first joined. The more I learned, the more I fell in love. We have so many people here who are so passionate about construction, it's inspiring. When I am out and about and see construction projects on the go, I think about the ways they are working and everything that goes into whatever it is they are building. And then I think about how a tool like Procore is helping them be more effective in their work, and essentially improving their lives. Every single employee at Procore is working towards that mission. Knowing that what I do - helping to attract talent to Procore - contributes to making that mission reality, is pretty awesome in my opinion.
Greatest achievements
To me, my greatest achievements are the small moments that matter. I could say things like standing up a new career site, or supporting DEI initiatives and seeing consistent increases in diverse applicants. Instead, I consider my greatest achievements to be things like getting a message from an applicant who tells me that a piece of content I developed inspired them to apply (even better when I learn that they were successfully hired!), or getting a heartfelt thank you from an employee after they shared a story with me, telling me that they felt seen, heard, and appreciated. I'm a warm and fuzzy kind of person, what can I say??
