At Procore, remote collaboration is really well-supported, and there are so many ways we stay connected and engaged! Aside from using tools like Zoom and Slack for real-time communication, we have regular virtual all-hands meetings, where our CEO and leadership team share updates and recognize team accomplishments. This helps everyone feel aligned and connected to Procore’s mission, no matter where they’re working from.
In my experience being a remote employee, I participate in virtual team stand-ups and cross-functional meetings to stay in sync on projects, and we often kick off or wrap up meetings with fun icebreakers that bring a personal touch. We also have Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that bring together people with shared identities, experiences, and interests, creating a strong sense of community. These groups offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with others on both a professional and personal level and are open to everyone.
Even for something as casual as a coffee breaks, Procore makes it easy to connect with remote colleagues. For example, I often set up virtual coffee chats with team members I don't work with directly, and I’ve found it’s a great way to learn more about different parts of the company. And of course, Procore encourages team building with wellness activities, and a lot of Slack channels for different interests where everyone can join and discuss the topics that interest them like sports, reality tv, running, ect!
Overall, it’s not just about the tools; it’s about fostering a remote culture where we’re encouraged to bring our full selves to work and to stay connected in ways that keep our team members vibrant and inclusive.
