Senior Recruiter
It's completely understandable to worry about gaps in your resume, but keep in mind many recruiters know that the job market has been tough with recent layoffs, and life can bring unexpected changes.
Be upfront about the time off and provide a clear explanation for it if asked and if you're comfortable sharing, whether it was for personal development, travel, caregiving, or focused on job search. Highlight any skills or experiences you gained during the gap such as taking courses to show you stayed active. Focus on the achievements and successes from your previous roles to highlight your experience and skills. Lastly, be confident and emphasize your readiness and enthusiasm to re-enter the workforce.
